About us

Jeseter was founded in 2005 and we started like a band that played the Yes´ song – “Close to the Edge” and others with a great enthusiasm for art rock music. Because of our guitar player "PJG" who had written some songs, we had decided to play our own music. In the summer 2007 we recorded our first album which was called “Slavnost pro jednoho” (Ceremony for the one) which included seven original songs. In  2012 we recorded our second album which incudes a 20 minutes long song "Transformation, which also gives the album its title.

Our group luckily still has most of its original members, with only our drummer Viktor Dořičák, who played on our first album, being replaced in 2009 by Lukáš Krejčí.

Why are we singing in Czech? Why not? Progressive rock is not a global product, so it should retain an element of originality and regionality. Our lyrics are all about findig oneself, relationships and transformation throught time. Another theme is the poetry of the city, the moods, colours and smells of the streets, crossroads, embankments and also the pubs and people who live here who are interesting to us.

Since the second album, we have started collaborating with Ondřej Zajíc, who suggested both, The "eye" logo and the cover image.

Currently, we are working on a rock opera "Siddharta" based on book by Hermann Hesse. We would like to realise this project with a greater number of instrument than we normally use.

We are music lovers and for us, prog rock is the creative form! We would be pleased if you like our music or if you invited us to play a concert.

Prog rock Forever :)
